The mission of the Office of Science (SC) Safeguards and Security Division is to ensure appropriate levels of protection against unauthorized access, theft, diversion, loss of custody and destruction of Department of Energy (DOE) assets, and hostile acts that may cause adverse impacts on fundamental science, national security, the health and safety of DOE and contractor employees, the public, and the environment. In support of the overall SC mission, the Safeguards and Security program provides protection for employees, facilities, and systems in a manner consistent with the security conditions.
