Transformational Energy Action Management
The Transformational Energy Action Management (TEAM) Initiative is a plan put forth by the Department of Energy (DOE) to transform the Department’s energy, environmental and transportation management in compliance with the National Energy Conservation Policy Act and the Energy Conservation Policy Act of 2005.
The TEAM Initiative aims to meet or exceed the aggressive goals for increasing energy efficiency throughout the Federal government. By fundamentally transforming the way DOE manages energy use in its facilities, the TEAM Initiative will leverage all possible public and private resources to improve performance and reduce energy and water costs to DOE facilities over the next few years.
TEAM Initiative Goals
There are eight core goals:

The TEAM Initiative is implemented by Order 430.2B by the Office of Science (SC) who is responsible for oversight of the implementation of the order to meet, lead or exceed the goals of all applicable laws, Executive Orders and Federal Regulations in order to continue to improve energy efficiency and water conservation, increase use of on-site, distributed renewable and clean energy resources on government or other Federal land, increase the number of sustainable buildings, optimize utilization of alternative fuel, hybrid and plug-in electric vehicles and increase the expansion and maintenance of an alternative fuel infrastructure at all SC sites.
The Office of Science ensures implementation of these programs at SC sites that will achieve the goals and objectives of the TEAM Initiative as well as other DOE key energy, utilities, sustainable building and fleet management objectives as provided by the Secretary or the Senior Agency Official.
