EXCESS FACILITIES DISPOSITION

Through the Excess Facilities Disposition (EFD) subprogram, under the Science Laboratories Infrastructure (SLI) program, SC-31.2 provides funding for demolition of facilities which are excess to the Department's missions at the SC laboratory sites.  In addition to demolitions, the EFD subprogram also funds the cleanout of facilities for reuse.  SC-31.2 is the primary SC point of contact for the transfer of excess facilities, excess materials and remediation activities to the Office of Environmental Management (EM) for disposition, and for the transfer of long-term remedial actions from EM to SC after the EM mission at an SC site is completed.  Lastly, SC-31.2 serves as a technical resource to other SC Program and Site Offices in meeting the space offset requirement for new construction.
