Materials Research: For significant contributions to materials technology through the development and implementation of super-plastic forming of uranium alloys and through the development of a method to predict the effects of quenching on nucro-structure and residual stresses. These contributions improved designs, reduced cost, increased efficiency, and minimized waste in the production of uranium weapons components.
