In FY 2009, Energy Biosciences evolved into two programs: 1) Photosynthetic Systems; and 2) Physical Biosciences. Both programs support fundamental research on plant and non-medical microbial systems. It is envisioned that, within the Office of Basic Energy Sciences (BES) solar energy utilization research will be particularly enhanced through complementary efforts between the Photosynthetic Systems and Solar Photochemistry programs. Similar complementation will occur, for example, between the Physical Biosciences program and the Catalysis Science and Separations & Analysis programs. For more detailed project information, please see Contractors' Meetings on the Publications page.
