Worker Safety and Health
The Office of Science (SC) established Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H) performance expectations through contract
requirements and communicates these to the SC laboratories. In addition, SC management develops specific
ES&H performance criteria in the Contract Performance Evaluation and Measurement Plan and monitors and
evaluates performance against these criteria.
Each SC Site Office provides a quarterly safety report to the Under Secretary for Science and prepares an annual
report to evaluate performance against ES&H expectations.
